Provisions from (h) to (i) have been added in the section 3 of the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act-2009 from the notification of reference (1) dated 31/08/2018 of the Education Department.  After that, with the resolution (2) of the education department dated , it has been decided to start the new academic year in the primary as well as secondary and higher secondary schools of the state from the month of April.  


The instructions were issued keeping in view the situation which has arisen due to the infection of Novel Corona virus (coVID.19) with reference (3) of the Department of Education dated .  The following instructions are issued keeping in view the situation which has arisen due to the extensive increase. 


 (1) The implementation of the declaration under reference (1) dated 31/06/2017 published as an authority obtained under section 37 of the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2006 has been postponed this year i.e. in the year 2020-21.  But the implementation of the provisions of this declaration will have to go from the next academic year i.e. the year 2021-2.  (2) By the Department of Education.  


It has been decided to start the new academic year in the month of April in all the schools with the resolution of   Due to the current global cholera epidemic problem, the new academic year will have to start as per the earlier i.e. summer vacation.  In the academic year 2020 21, summer vacation in schools will be from 03/05/2021 to 06/09/2021.  


(3) In order to control the global epidemic caused by the transmission of Corona virus (COVID.19) by the State Government and local bodies, any work to be done by the employees / officers of the state government and private primary, secondary and higher secondary schools.  Academic and non-academic staff / officers who have not been assigned will not have to come to the school. 


 But if any operation is assigned by the State Government and / or the local authority, its investigation shall strictly follow all the instructions given by the State Government and / or the local authority.  (3) Educational and non-academic employees of private schools (self-supporting schools) are exempted from attending school. 


 (2) The Director, Office of Primary Education and Government Secondary, Higher Secondary Education Board, Gandhinagar under the control of government, grant-in-aid and self-reliant schools and the teachers of that school must follow the instructions of the academic calendar to be decided by the aforesaid officials for the new academic year.  (3) All ancillary proceedings regarding strict implementation of all the above instructions shall be undertaken by the Director, Office of Schools, Director, Office of Primary Education and Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
