Compared to other states in India, Gujarat ranks first in India with 07.12% in providing primary school facilities only in residential areas. In addition, 98.78% of the population has a standard 1 to 4 primary school for a distance of 1 km, while 99.18% of the population has a standard 1 to 4 primary school for a distance of 1 km.
There are 6,80,590 villages (residential areas) with a population of 300 or more across India, out of which, only 24% of the villages have access to primary school from standard 1 in the residential area. While there are 20,810 villages (residential areas) with a population of 30 or more in Gujarat, out of which 96.03% of the villages have been provided with standard 1 to 4 primary school facilities in the residential area only.
