So that access to main memory, like access to other devices, is in complete control of the operating system. If some memory is required from the main memory during a process or the used memory is to be released then the operating system has to be requested and no process can access the memory not allocated by the operating system.
This is called memory protection. Serving multiple users at the same time: The commuter can be used by only one user (single user system) or multiple users at once (multiuser system - multi user system). The type of operating system can be designed. In a multiuser operating system, it is possible for multiple individuals to execute programs simultaneously on a single computer (commonly called a server) and perform input-output operations on a terminal with a keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
When not all users are provided with a powerful computer as per their requirement (due to high cost) then the multiuser operating system becomes useful and individuals can use a powerful computer sharer. The multiser system also provides special benefits such as centralized management and use of shared tools (e.g., file).
A person living in a remote secluded place also uses a commuter on the Internet in a very remote corner of the world. This way it makes it possible for employees traveling to a very large organization to use their own pigeons from anywhere in the world to do their work. It also enables the organization's staff to provide technical assistance without wasting time traveling and enabling employees to diagnose and solve problems using office commuters in different locations. Some organizations also offer their employees the option of working from home.
