Advantages and disadvantages of the new policy The Lucknow Transport Commissioner has implemented this policy in UP with immediate effect. Under the policy, 15-year-old petrol and 10-year-old diesel vehicles will no longer be able to run on the road without fitness. If such vehicles are caught without fitness, the Enforcement Squad will confiscate them and deem them unsuitable and hand them over to the Scrap Center.
Following the implementation of this policy, scrap centers will be opened across the state. Here the owners will be able to get the certificate by handing over the seized vehicles and they will also get a fair price for their vehicles. The implementation of this policy will also reduce vehicle related crimes.
The scrap center will be up to three acres. Where and how to apply After the implementation of this policy, cash will be six per cent of the total value of the abandoned vehicle. There will be a certificate showing that the purchase of a vehicle will be exempted from five per cent tax.
According to the Department of Transportation, six types of people will be able to apply on the website www.ppe.nsws.gov.in/scrappagepolicy to declare the vehicle as scrap on the department's website. The Department of Transportation has started online registration.
Anyone, firm, organization, trust can apply by going to the website. Other required documents including character certificate should also be uploaded on the stamp of Rs.100 while applying. What difference does it make to us? No it's not Government vehicles will be compulsorily scrapped if they are older than 15 years but heavy commercial vehicles like trucks older than 15 years will have to undergo a fitness test.
If you pass this fitness test then it will not be scrapped. Have to do otherwise. Private vehicles like our cars have a period of 20 years after which they have to be re-registered. It doesn't matter if the re-registration is done but if it is not done then the vehicle has to be scrapped. Because it will be considered an end of life vehicle.
