The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has developed a special platform for this. This new facility has become easier and more accessible for investors who do not have an account with a stock market broker or invest in stocks or invest only in Mutual Fund schemes.
For this, BSE has offered membership of this platform to agents as well as financial advisors for a fee of only Rs. So investors need to dematerialize their units. Even so, the trend of dematting of units of mutual funds is increasing now.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has also developed a similar platform and offers its limited membership to agents-advisors. The BSE conducts financial transactions (settlement) of these transactions through the National Payments Corporation, a government corporation promoted by ten banks under the guidance of the Reserve Bank.
