A new web portal will be created for the maintenance of documents

Under the new rules, a web portal will be created for the maintenance of vehicle related documents like licenses, registration certificates, fitness certificates, permits etc. This portal will be operated by the government. Records and registrations of reported crimes, including suspension, compounding and revocation, will also be available on this web portal.
The new rules will take effect on October 1
The new rules will come into effect from October 1, 2020, the ministry said in a statement. These rules relate to changes made to the Motor Vehicle Act last year. Some of the rules of this law came into force last year. "IT services and electronic monitoring will better enforce traffic rules in the country," the statement said. Police officers will not be able to ask for documents
According to the statement, the information of revoked and invalid driving licenses on the web portal will be updated chronologically. This will help the officers to monitor the behavior of the drivers. According to the rules, police officers cannot physically demand the documents if the documents pertaining to the vehicle are validated electronically.
Information on the seized papers will be available on the portal
Police officers may ask for papers to apprehend him if he has committed an offense on behalf of the driver. The siege will be carried out electronically on the web portal. The information of the seized papers will be chronologically updated on the web portal. This record will be regularly available on the web portal. Information on the police officer who checked the documents and the date will also be available on this web portal. This will prevent unnecessary testing and harassment of drivers.
